  1. Use whole grains whenever possible. It adds bulk, which gives you that fullfeeling, which means you eat less and your stomach shrinks.Buy brown rice and whole wheat pasta.Read labels on breads, crackers and processed cereals. They should say "whole grain"or "whole" corn, wheat, rice or oats.
  2. Mix in a bran cereal to your regular cereal if it's not high fiber. It'll make you feel fuller for longer without eating more.
  3. Canned beef stwe, chili and tamales in gravy can be loaded with up to 30 grams of fat per cup.To reduce the fat, refrigerate then skim off the grease.
  4. Stay away from deep fried chicken. The coating, skin and grease are three deadly eating sins.Instead, have grilled skinless chicken breasts.
  5. A monster muffin has 400 calories.Try a smaller one or only eat half
  6. Drink eight to 10 glasses of water per day (more during hot weather). It helps the body flush out waste, keeps organs functioning properly and takes the edge off your hunger. It also gives your hands and mouth something to do.
  7. Choose fish over red meat.
  8. Grill , bake or broil rather than fry.
  9. Desserts are ok in moderation.Angle food cake is ideal, so is jell-o and a number of other treats, including frozen yogurt with low fat chocolate sauce and a non dairy whipped topping.
  10. Instead of smothering a baked potato in sour cream and butter, use salsa.
  11. Get the most from your intake and be creative.Use a sweet potato instead of a regular baked one.Try baby carrots instead of chips.
  12. 12.Listen to your body.Do you have more energy after eating foods high in nutrients?Take note of what your body is craving.
